Javad Farrokhi Derakhshandeh

Javad Farrokhi Derakhshandeh currently holds the position of Associate Professor at the American University of the Middle East (AUM). Having previously undertaken responsibilities at the University of Adelaide in Australia, he engaged in collaborative efforts with the Australian Solar Thermal Research Initiative (ASTRI) in the capacity of a research assistant, thereby contributing substantively to the pursuits of one of Australia's premier academic institutions. His Ph.D. thesis was titled: "Harnessing Hydrokinetic Energy from Vortex-Induced Vibration (VIV)".
 

The professional interest of him mainly focuses on Renewable Energy and Thermo-Fluids concepts, Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis, and water channel tests. Javad is the co-author of a textbook titled: "Electrostatic Dust Mitigation and Manipulation Techniques for Planetary Dust". He is also the author/co-author of more than 60 high ranking journals and conferences, such as Physics of Fluids, Fluids and Structures, Ocean Engineering, ISA Transactions,  International Communications in Heat and Mass Transfer, Journal of Heat Transfer (ASME), etc.
